The research aimed to study the readiness level and offered guidelines to strengthen the readiness of regional government for security management under non-traditional threats in Chanthaburi province. The mixed method approach of survey and qualitative research approaches were used. They included : survey, interviews and participatory observation. The results showed that the readiness of regional government sectors was at a moderate level. The aspects that were considered for level of readiness were as follows: 1) illegal drugs, 2) severe public danger, 3) illegal immigrant labor, 4) environmental and natural resource destruction, and 5) epidemic diseases. The guidelines to strengthen the readiness of regional government were as follows: knowledge empowerment, position allocation of volunteer defense corps, integration of the main sectors with related sectors, awareness cultivation of the problems, network development for coordinating with related sectors and development of government information centers.
