Working morale and organization commitment of local government staff under the current of ASEAN community : A case study of Mueang Chanthaburi District, Chanthaburi Province
The objectives of this research were to study the morale and organization commitment as well as the relationship between the morale and commitment existed in workplaces among personnel of the sub-district administration organizations in Mueang Chanthaburi District. The research employed the mixed methods which included the surveys of personnel who worked for the sub-district administration organizations in Mueang Chanthaburi District with the sample group consisted of 327 individuals and the use of two-stage random sampling method. In addition, the qualitative research method was also employed which included group interviews and the participatory observation.The research had found that the level of morale in the workforce of the sub-district administrative organizations in Mueang Chanthaburi District was relatively high and so was their organization commitment. In terms of the relationship between the morale and organizational commitment which affected many factors such as job characteristics, colleague relationship, job security and progress, and job commands. responsibility which was a vital factor that affected morale in terms of colleague relationship, job commands, as well as job characteristics. Enthusiasm was also a key factor that affected the morale level in terms of colleague relationship and job characteristics.
