การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการก่อรูป ปัจจัยที่มีผลและแนวทางการแก้ไขเกี่ยวกับความขัดแย้งทางการเมืองในเทศบาลแห่งหนึ่งในภาคตะวันออก วิธีการศึกษาใช้การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยใช้กรณีศึกษา 4 กรณี การเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลใช้การศึกษาเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก และการสังเกตแบบมีส่วนร่วม ผลการวิจัยพบว่าการก่อรูปความขัดแย้งทางการเมืองในเขตเทศบาลแห่งหนึ่งในภาคตะวันออก เป็นผลมาจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงฐานะจากสุขาภิบาลเป็นเทศบาลในปี 2542 เป็นหลัก ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อความขัดแย้งทางการเมือง ได้แก่ ปัจจัยด้านผลประโยชน์ ปัจจัยด้านบุคลิกภาพทางการเมือง ปัจจัยด้านการแย่งชิงตําแหน่ง และปัจจัยด้านการรับรู้ข้อมูลข่าวสาร ส่วนแนวทางในการจัดการแก้ไขความขัดแย้งทางการเมืองในเทศบาลตําบลแห่งหนึ่งในภาคตะวันออกที่เหมาะสมและได้รับการยอมรับมากที่สุด ได้แก่ แนวทางการไกล่เกลี่ยประนีประนอม

The objectives of this research were to study the formation, the factors, and the resolution of the political conflicts of one municipality in the eastern region. The method used in this study was a qualitative research. The data were collected by documentary research, the in-depth interview, and the participatory observation. The results were found that the formation of the political conflicts were occurred from the change of the small local organization to the municipality in 1999. The factors impacted the political conflicts were the interest, the political personality, the election competition and the information perception. The appropriate and recognized resolution was negotiation and compromise.
