A study of the skill standard testing for building electricians to meet the requirements of the Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University Skill Standard Testing Center
The purposes of this research were to: 1) Study requirements for the skill standard testing for building electricians through the testing center, 2) recognize the actual problems in improving the services offered by the university skill standard testing center, and 3) acknowledge the application in real-life situations of those who passed the test. The sample used in this research was taken from the general population living in Chanthaburi Province. Two samples were selected as follows: 583 people who had never taken the test and 100 people who had passed the test and worked as building electricians in various enterprises. The research instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.97. The statistics used to analyze data were: percentage, frequency, average, and descriptive analysis.
The research results on requirements for the skill standard testing for building electricians through the skill standard testing center showed that: 1) testing their skills was at a high level, 2) the most required testing day was Sunday, 3) services and accurate information was at the highest level, 4) honest and neutral staff with service ethics was at the highest level, 5) facilities with adequate equipment and services was at the highest level, and 6) trustworthy skill standard testing center operated according to the standard procedures and testing methods was at the highest level. In terms of actual problems that required to be improved for the respondents who had never taken the test, it was the untruthfulness in the quality of the skill standard testing center. Finally, the result of the efficiency in the application in real-life situations of those who had passed the test was shown by reduced costs due to: no fire, no loss of materials, reduced work time, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life situations.
