Communication management of community leaders in the establishment of a community forest : a case study of Ban Kao Mapring Community Forestry, Na Yai Am District, Chanthaburi Province
The research aimed to: 1) analyze the characteristics of community leaders that influenced their ability to persuade villagers to participate in the establishment of the Ban Kao Mapring community forest; and 2) analyze the participatory communication strategies employed by these community leaders to encourage villager participation. A qualitative research approach was adopted, employing document analysis, participant and non-participant observation, and in-depth interviews with 47 key informants, comprising community leaders, government officials, villagers who illegally occupy forest land, and other stakeholders.
