The purpose of this research was to study the networks of economics and politics and guidelines of the effective remedy for the longan market in Pong Nam Ron District in Chanthaburi. The political economy approach of qualitative research with the study of document papers, the in-depth
interviews, and the participatory observation were applied to this study. The major findings showed the 4 types of the economic and political networks: 1) the network between capitalists and crofters, 2) the network between crofters and middlemen, 3) the network between exporters and middlemen,
and 4) the network between dealers and Chinese merchants. The guidelines of the effective remedy for the fairness in the longan market would depend on the machinery of community, state, and market.
