The purposes of this research were: 1) to develop a Thai literature critical reading activity package for Mathayomsuksa 1 students to be effective in accordance with the 80/80 criteria, 2) to compare the outcome of Thai literature critical reading before and after learning with a Thai literature critical reading activity package for Mathayomsuksa 1 students with SQ4R technique, 3) to compare the outcome of Thai literature critical reading before and after learning with a Thai literature critical reading activity package for Mathayomsuksa 1 students with KWL PLUS technique, and 4) to compare the outcome of Thai literature critical reading of the students who studied with SQ4R and KWL PLUS techniques for Mathayomsuksa 1 students. The sample used in this research was a group of 60 Mathyomsuksa 1 students at Bankhai School in the first semester of the academic year 2020, gained from simple random sampling. The research instruments included: 1) a Thai literature critical reading activity packages using SQ4R and KWL PLUS techniques, 2) a test on Thai literature critical reading, and 3) a lesson plan. The statistics used for data analysis included: percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test.
