The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the socioeconomic problems in the border mine area of Sakaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat Provinces, 2) study the management of landmines by the military department in the border mine areas of these provinces, and 3) propose ways for community participation in socioeconomic revival in this area. This was qualitative research using area-based theory-building research methodology. The research method used data collection from in-depth interviews and hearsay historical interviews by selecting specific case studies from : Khoksung Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sakaeo Province; Laemklad Subdistrict, Muang District, Trat Province; and Khlongyai Subdistrict, Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province.
