The Effects of The STAD Cooperative Learning Technique towards Learning Achievement and Critical Thinking Skills in Mathematics of Pratomsuksa 6 Students.
The objectives of this research are as follows; 1) to do a comparative study of the learning outcomes between students with the application of STAD technique and students who are conventionally taught in classroom, 2) to compare the analysis skills of students with the application of STAD technique and students who learn in conventional method. The targeted
sample were 43 students in 6th- grade studying in the 2nd semester of 2012 and were in a school under the supervision of 2nd regional education office, Nong Ta Kong district, Pong Nam Ron, Chanthaburi province. This sample consisted of a tested group of 18 students and a controlled
group of 25 students by applying Simple Random Sampling method. These two groups were selected by using 6th- grade mathematics test, thenrandomly select students with similar abilities in order to form the tested and controlled groups. The research instruments include 16 study
plans of STAD technique, 16 conventional study plans, a number of test paper for learning outcomes and measuring the analysis skills. The statistic tools used in this research include the average value, standard deviation (S.D.) value, andt-test independent value.
