A comparison of the professional competency and learning achievement in energy resources and the environment by using Problem-based Learning (PBL) and Case-based Learning with vocational certificate students
The objectives of this research were to: 1) compare the professional competency before and after studying the subject of energy, resources and the environment with problem-based learning, 2) compare the professional competency before and after learning with case-based learning method; 3) compare the professional competencies after learning between the two methods, and 4) compare the learning achievements after learning between the two methods. The sample group were 2 classrooms of third year Automotive diploma degree vocational certificate students in the second semester of the academic year 2022 at Don Mueang Technical College. The two experimental groups were selected by purposive sampling. The instruments used in this research were: 1) a lesson plan using problem-based learning with an average appropriateness at the high level of 4.58, 2) a lesson plan using case-based learning with an average appropriateness at the high level of 4.57, 3) a professional competency test which had a reliability of 0.98, and 4) a learning achievement test which had a reliability of 0.84. The statistics used were: mean, standard deviation. and t-test.
